Program Director
Brother Lamont is the Program Director at the Torchlight Recovery Café, where he leads with compassion, structure, and a deep commitment to building safe and supportive spaces for individuals in recovery. A person in long-term recovery himself, Brother Lamont is a dedicated community advocate, Recovery Coach Supervisor, and facilitator with over 20 years of experience in community outreach. He believes in paying forward the support he’s received by equipping others with tools, knowledge, and encouragement rooted in cultural humility and lived experience.
Since joining Torchlight Recovery at its inception in 2020, Brother Lamont has been instrumental in shaping its mission and programming. As a lead facilitator, he provides trainings on Cultural Humility, Inclusive Communication, and Self-Care for recovery coaches and peer support workers — always grounded in empathy, compassion, and respect.
He holds a Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) certification through CCAR (Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery), and also plays a vital role in the Recovery Education Collaborative, delivering high-quality, culturally responsive education to recovery professionals and peer workers within the BIPOC community.
Brother Lamont’s unwavering consistency, commitment, and love for people are evident in every space he holds — affirming his belief that healing is possible when rooted in dignity, accountability, and community care.
